Product Description

The AD5259 (from Analog Devices) offers an ideal solution for most digital potentiometer applications. Learn how to use the AD5259 using our I²C Mini Module and take control of one onboard I²C controlled potentiometer with 256 taps. This version is equipped with a 100K digital potentiometer (but 5K, 10K, and 50K are also available). The AD5259 supports wiper read-back, allowing you to easily read the current wiper settings.

Digital potentiometers are an ideal solution to replace many types of mechanical potentiometers, but we advise close examination of the datasheet to make sure your application is voltage compatible

The AD5254 may also be used in:

  • programmable gain/offset control applications
  • programmable power supplies
  • programmable filters
  • low-resolution digital-to-analog conversion
  • LED brightness adjustment
  • sensor calibration applications

This  is strictly limited to 5ma of current through the potentiometer. Voltages through the AD5259 potentiometer should NEVER exceed +5VDC at 5ma.

 

All I²C Mini Modules are designed to operate at 5VDC. Using a convenient 4-Pin plug, devices can be daisy-chained onto the I²C Bus, eliminating the need for soldering. Simply plug together the devices you need for your next automation application.
